ZW8‑12 outdoor high‑voltage AC vacuum circuit breaker is outdoor distribution equipment rated at 12 kV, 3‑phase AC 50 Hz.
It is designed for pole‑mounted installation. This switch is mainly used to make and break load current, overload current and short‑circuit current in power systems. It provides overload, short‑circuit and instantaneous over‑current protection. Either single‑side isolating knife switch or double‑side isolating knife switch can be optionally equipped.

Adopts vacuum interrupter for arc‑extinguishing The inside of vacuum interrupter maintains high‑vacuum condition, serving as insulating and arc‑extinguishing medium during live operation. When contacts separate under load via operating mechanism, vacuum arc is generated and quenches at current zero‑crossing to interrupt circuit current.

Adopts air‑silicone rubber‑epoxy resin composite insulation; high‑altitude version is available upon altitude requirements.

With the development of smart grid, conventional switches require upgrading and extended functions. This switch can be fitted with recloser controller to realize automatic re‑closing.
Electronic PT is optional; battery is charged from CT power supply. Energy‑storage and closing‑opening operations can be performed multiple times under power‑loss condition, and working voltage for external equipment can be provided.
Built‑in metering CT & PT are available for remote prepaid function. Zero‑sequence CT can be added for earth‑fault protection with sectionalizer controller. Simple remote‑control operation is optional for local pole‑base control.
